BJTs

A BJT (bipolar junction transistor) is an active semiconductor device that amplifies current. It is commonly operated in its linear region for amplification applications. It is also commonly operated in its cut-off and saturation regions for basic switching applications, for example, to turn on/off an LED or relay.
